(PV) Prime Minister Stephen Harper caused panic on the Hill on Wednesday, when his lunch order for perogies (with sour cream and bacon bits), was mistakenly reported as a call by him to once again prorogue Parliament.
Harper reacted by saying "I don't know where everyone got the idea that I would do something so counter to democratic principles, simply to get my government out of hot water over the Afghan detainee issue! Honestly who could possibly believe that I hold Parliament in such contempt! I simply called the Governor General to invite her for lunch, because - well, to be honest, she just loves her perogies! Now, proroguing might come up, we talk about all kinds of things, but I would certainly never suggest it myself."

Harper realizing that prorogation would gain him a majority on Senate committees.
When asked to comment, Opposition leader Michael Ignatieff stated, "Um, uh, well, what do you think I should say? I'm kinda stuck here, because, well, there just seems to be a lot going on, and I'm not sure how Canadians would like me to react. Have you spoken to Ralph Goodale? Maybe he knows what I should do. Do Canadians still not want an election? Well, there you have it! I can't be expected to do my job as leader of the opposition, if it might cause an election (no way is that fucker Kennedy getting my job! ) Look, I'm having a hard time dealing with all this non-intellectual stuff in real-time. Maybe I should write you my comment...I somehow always seem more intelligent and leader-esque on paper"
Meanwhile a Decima Research / CBC poll shows Gilles Duceppe's Block Quebecois as Canadians' preferred party to form a new government. Duceppe was quoted as saying "Bien sûr! Je suis le seul chef qui essaie vraiment adressez les vœux de mon corps électoral." but no one understood what he said, except the Québec reporters.
NDP used-car-salesman Jack Layton was not available for comment as he was having his moustache waxed, before stopping off for a bite of Olivia Chow, while Green Party leader Elizabeth May tried to remain significant in a country that increasingly only pays lip service to the environment. "Prorogue This!", she said, while showing reporters that she had broken the nail on her middle finger.
Canadians reacted to the contemptuous attempt to close yet another Parliamentary session, by checking what was on the American channels until the Sens game started.

I'm starting to agree with the Bloc as the Natural Governing Party.
