If you're new to PeBoVision, I should let you know that while all of my music reviews cover Canadian artists, I concentrate my efforts on one particular group of musicians...
I only write reviews of new music being released in Québec.
Why, you ask? Well because I believe that Québec is producing some of the best music in the country (as a few of my readers have come to agree), but there is an airplay brick-wall between Québec and the rest of the country (although a brick-wall inaccurately suggests a two-way barrier.)
As a result, it has become my personal mission to introduce you to a sampling of the superb music being released by some our country's most talented artists - whom you would (sadly) never hear about otherwise .

Albums like...
1
► Casabon: Faites comme chez vous! ◄
Scratch that.
They're a cross between Smash Mouth and Les Colocs....
Ummm...
Maybe they're more like Tryo with a shot of BB Gabor...
Damn! That's not it either!
I guess they just sound like Casabon. But there is definitely nothing wrong with that!! I dare you not to tap your feet... Go ahead, try! (Linguistically challenged? The album title is "Make Yourself at Home!")
Tell you more when I find out who these boys are.
2
► Rendez-Vous (self-titled) ◄
...and a whole bunch of music in-between. Where has this supremely talented group of musicians been all my life! If this textured collection of brilliance does not find it's way across the Québec border to saturate the entire country with it's sensual rhythms, then there is no justice in the world!
Fans of Gotan Project should love Rendez-Vous, but expect something wholly unique! If this is an example of what one can find in the Tacca Musique catalog, I'd better fill my pre-paid credit card!
Sorry no YouTube video yet... Click on the cover to go to the purchase page where you can sample (full tracks!) the whole album... Warning! You'll likely buy it!
